Where has all the pasta gone? The supermarket shelves are still bare and Coles and Woolworths are continuing to limit home deliveries, increasing the chances of spreading the virus.
To help fill the void left by the supermarkets, we’ll be offering fresh pasta to our customers for a limited time. We will be producing fresh packaged pasta to order - either for pick up or for delivery. You have all supported us since we first opened, and we want to support you in return. With the outbreak of coronavirus, we wanted to take the time to share with our customers the food safety standards and preventative measures we’re taking at our pizzeria to ensure a safe space. We'd also like to share some exciting changes we've made. NO DINE-IN New government guidelines require us to close to dine-in. This means that until further notice we will only be open for takeaway. NEW TAKE HOME RANGE We've launched a new range of oven-ready pizzas, fresh pasta, vegetable pasta and pasta sauce! Available for pick up and delivery every Monday. Learn more here. PAYMENT METHOD To reduce the risk of spreading the virus, we request that you pay by card where ever possible. TAKEAWAY PROCESS Due to the current government guidance, we are asking our customer to please wait outside our pizzeria while your order is being prepared. Once your order is ready, we'll call you in to collect it. If required, wait in your vehicle and we'll bring your order out to you. DELIVERY PROCESS All delivery orders must be paid by phone when the order is being place. We require a mobile phone number for every delivery placed by our team directly. We will place your order on your doorstep and text you to let you know it's there. OUR TEAM Our team members have been advised to stay home if they experience any of the associated symptoms of coronavirus including cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. We are pleased to report that none of our team have been to any of the affected areas or have been in contact with someone who has contracted coronavirus. Our team members are required to regularly wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) As an additional precaution, our team members will also be wearing face masks while working at Pizza Strada - this applies to all team members excluding Pizzaiolo Daniel who cannot wear one while working the 400 degree oven. CLEANING Industrial strength bleach diluted to the appropriate concentration to meet all food safety standards is used to clean all surfaces. Our restroom is thoroughly cleaned with bleach before every day. The door to our restaurant is currently being cleaned before service begins each day. OUR OVEN If all else fails, kill it with fire! Our wood-fire pizzas are cooked in a 400 degree wood fired oven for at least 60 seconds. According to WHO, temperatures of 140°F to 150°F (60-65 degrees celsius) are enough to kill most viruses. We're watching the situation closely and following the guidelines advised by the Australian government. We will do whatever we can to keep our team and customers safe and reassured. |
